My first battery lasted almost two years. I only replaced it because I lost the whole pen. I’ve had to replace the chamber and charger before, but the battery stuck through it all. So I’d recommend it. The newer one does charge faster. But the charge still lasted about the same time. Make sure you also clean / wipe the part where it connects to the chamber, whenever you clean the chamber. Consistent cleaning will reduce stickiness that can affect the charger, which is much much harder to clean.
