The Yocan Evolve D Dry Herb vape pen is the entry level device for on the go dry herb combustion vaporization.
Note: This is not purely a vaporizer in nature. The atomizer will contact the material or flower you are using which does cause combustion but in a small form factor similar to a portable smoker. If you're looking for a conduction/convection hybrid vaporizer, you'll want to check out Yocan's HIT dry herb vaporizer.
This budget friendly herb pen is good for a quick and discreet device. It heats up fast and has decent battery life and need a good stash and smoke device.
For the user the wants a stronger hit, and not looking for a pure vaporization device this uses direct contact heating to burn your herbs. You will get smoke while using this pen.
Does the Evolve-D also smoke Wax?
This evolve kit does not contain the atomizer and mouthpiece for wax vaporization but you have several options:
- Since it uses the same battery as the wax evolve all you'll need is the evolve mouthpiece for wax (this item comes with a mouthpiece stem, dual quartz coil and coil cap).
OR
- Upgrade to the Yocan Evolve 2 in 1 which has atomizers and mouthpieces for all 3 (dry herb, liquids/thick concentrates, and wax)

Powering the Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer
- Charge your Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer before use to ensure best results.
- Once you have fully charged the battery, you can proceed by turning the vaporizer battery on by tapping the power button 5 times. Note: The power button is located at the middle part of the battery facing outwards and is the rectangularly shaped button on the vaporizer battery.
- Start sterilizing the coils by pressing the power button for 3 to 5 seconds Note: perform sterilization during the first time you receive your Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer. This will eliminate and get rid of any impurities that might have made its way to the heating chamber during the manufacturing process.
How to Load the Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer
- Prepare your dry herbs by using a grinder to grind the herbs into smaller pieces allowing it to touch and make contact with the heated surface area.
- Open the mouthpiece by turning it counterclockwise to access the dual coils on the Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer.
- Load your desired amount of grinded dry herbs into the heating chamber. Use the herb tool to scoop the ground materials or put the herbs directly in the chamber from your grinder. Note: Make sure leave enough room for air to evenly flow from the heating element to the mouthpiece. Packing your herbs tight may cause a similarly tight airflow and you may have a hard time inhaling vapors from the Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer.
- Change the mouthpiece by turning the threaded connections clockwise. Note: Don’t overtighten the threads as it may damage it and cause it to be loose altogether.
How to Vape the Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer
- Make sure that the Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer is fully charged and is properly loaded your grinded herbs before vaping.
- After the Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer is loaded, press your lips against the mouthpiece and prepare to pull.
- Press and hold the power button of the Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer and it will begin producing vapors, start to inhale and draw from the mouthpiece. Note: The Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer has a functional mouthpiece that acts as a tamping tool to press the herbs closer to the heating element while you’re vaping.
- Repeat this process as necessary or as the ground herbs are fully consumed.
Cleaning and Maintaining your Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer
The Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer is easy to clean and maintain. Likewise, it has very few parts which means that assembly and disassembly is fairly easy as well. To maintain your Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer, follow the steps below.
- Power the vaporizer on. Five clicks on the power button will turn it on and another five more click will turn it off.
- Remove the mouthpiece for you to access the herb chamber.
- Use the included brush from the kit when cleaning your Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer.
- Replace the mouthpiece.

Does it have heat levels, I'm only buying one for medicinal use
The evolve-D has only one heat setting. Keep in mind this is a combustion vaporizer - if you're looking for adjustable heat settings you'll want to check out the Yocan Vane or the Yocan Hit - these are both non-combustion dry herb vaporizers.

Hello Anthony. The Yocan Evolve-D Vaporizer should hold around .3 -.5 gram of herb.

Is this Yocan Evolve-D a good daily user? Can it take afew times aday and last?
Hi Christopher, the Evolve-D is a good entry level dry herb vaporizer which can be used daily but more of an on-the-go type portable vape. We recommend the Pulsar APX 2 for a sub $100 dry herb vaporizer.

Does it still smell?
Good question! The Evolve-D uses contact combustion which basically burns the material versus vaping the material so this will smell more than a true vaporizer.

Can the Evolve-D also be used for vape liquid (not wax)?

Great dry flower vape!
As long as you aren't planning on a long (shared) smoke session, this pen is great. The only con, is that it needs to be cleaned well and often. Love to keep this for "emergencies"
